The OWN Writers' Group

This small group is now 16 years old. For many years it met monthly with Carro Braunlich, its first Coordinator, at her home. After Carro resigned, Wendy Ounpuu served as Coordinator for ten years. For the last few years the Group has been meeting bimonthly, on the first Wednesday of February, April, June, August, October and December, in a meeting room at the Co-op. The meetings run from 1:30 to 3:30 pm.

Our members write whatever they choose, in whatever format they choose. The group listens, appreciates, and encourages. Sometimes suggestions are made, mostly about any vagueness, grammar or spelling errors. Once a year we publish a booklet called "OUR OWN WORDS" containing submissions our members have agreed to let us publish therein.

Most of the past issues are available at the OWN office or at OWN's general meetings, for $3 - 5.00.

Anyone interested in writing is welcome to join us. If you have something written to read out loud, fine. If not, that's OK too. Come and get to know us. We love to welcome new members, and even curious visitors.

For information call the OWN office at 416-214-1518.
