CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF ADVOCACY
All of 2008 will be given over to celebrating the 20th
anniversary of the Ontario Older Women’s Network.
And there is plenty to celebrate – when 80% of
organizations last less than 10 years, this vibrant Network has grown and
prospered, thanks to the dedicated women who got it off to a solid start and the
volunteers who have kept OWN running, advocating, educating and celebrating.
Help us celebrate!
OWN members are invited to a dinner to celebrate 20
memorable years. Enjoy an evening, meet old and new friends, and feel proud to
be a member of your network. We will be honouring past Chairs, 10 and 20 year
OWN members, guests, hosting speakers, and more.

2008 is a year to bring social justice advocacy to the
forefront.
Pension improvement, gender equality, affordable housing,
defending our public health system – all of these issues and many more are at
the core of our advocacy efforts.
What can I do?
- Give
input – what special events would you like to see offered?
- Give
money – support OWN by joining every year, and above and beyond paying
your dues, you can donate to a project or initiative. Honour someone you admire by
contributing to our commemorative book “Anam Cara” which commemorates
individual women and their contributions.
- Give
time – volunteer to help us keep the Older Women’s Network running –
all our jobs, including running the office, are volunteer.
- Volunteer
your talents: Run a workshop.
Design a logo. Lead a program. Tell us how you can help OWN celebrate
it’s 20th year. We are all ears.
- Call
the Older Women’s Network at 416-214-1518 or send e-mail to: info@olderwomensnetwork.org
